Installing Ford Fusion Decklid Blackout Panel
WEATHER WARNING
The temperature that you install your decals in is the most critical element. Temperatures must be between 50°F to 90°F.
The weather that the decals are exposed to cannot go below 60 degrees for 5-6 days. This is due to the water used during the install. The time is needed to allow the water between the decal and emblem to completely evaporate. There may be bubbles in your decal until the water has fully evaporated.

Clean Surface
Make sure to thoroughly clean the surface of the car where you are installing the decal. Make sure your decklid is free of any dirt, grease or other debris.
Remove License Plate
Remove your license plate and rubber bump stops on the bottom of your license plate. See (A1) in the image below.
Wet Area
Using a water-filled misting bottle, thoroughly spray down the decklid area where the decal will be applied.
Prep Decal
Carefully remove the decal from the paper backer, as not to accidentally fold it or create any creases.
Wet Decal
Now turn over the decal and thoroughly spray down the tacky side of the decal with the mist sprayer.
Position Decal
Carefully lay the decal in place on your decklid. To make installation easier it is good to use the far left and right points of the decal as your alignment/starting points. See (A2) in the image below.
Align Decal
Make sure the decal is aligned properly before starting to squeegee the decal.
Note: The decal is slightly oversized along the top side of the decal. It is designed to go slightly UNDER the top part of the decklid. This is to give it a clean look after install. See (A3) in the image below.
Squeegee Decal
From the center of the decal outward squeegee out any bubbles and water. Always work from the inside to the outside of the decal. When you are squeegeeing the top of the decal, you can push up a couple of millimeters of the decal into the inside of the upper decklid area. See (A3) in the image below.
Prep For License Plate
After you have finished squeegeeing the decal, make holes with a sharp knife where the lower license plate stops were mounted, and reinsert the rubber stops. See (A1) in the image below.
Install License Plate
You can now install your license plate and enjoy.
